What we collect
Mental Math stores the information needed to operate a student account: email address, public username and profile choices; test answers, scores, timing, grade and topic progress; badges, friendships and feedback; and qualified activity timestamps used by administrators to understand whether the service is being used. We never store readable passwords.
Why we use it
We use this information to save progress across devices, recommend practice, produce weekly certificates, run leaderboards and friend features, protect accounts, answer feedback and improve the learning experience.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google verifies your identity and supplies your name, email address and a stable account identifier. Mental Math does not receive or store your Google password.
Sharing and retention
Public profiles show only the student’s chosen public name, badges and learning statistics. Email addresses, passwords and private account information are not shown to other students. Administrators can view account activity and academic reports to operate the service. Data remains until the account is deleted, except where temporary technical backups must expire normally.
Your choices
You can update profile details, disconnect optional sign-in methods, unfriend students, sign out, or permanently delete the account and its learning data. See the account deletion instructions.
